The Data Collection on Autochthonous Cultivars of Grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.) as Support for Management of National Grapevine Collections
Coordinators: Prof Nikola Mićić, PhD, University of Banja Luka, Genetic Resources Institute, and Prof Branka Javornik, PhD, University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty
The project supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Srpska and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on the basis of bilateral agreements on cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Slovenia
Implementation Time: 2009-2011
The main objectives of the project are:
- the data collection on molecular characterization of autochthonous cultivars of vines and their examination; the defining of the possible discrepancies in data from the countries in the region; the collected data will be the core data collection for further molecular characterization of autochthonous cultivars in Bosnia and Herzegovina
- the establishment of data basis of molecular markers and defining of referent cultivars for further standardization of autochthonous materials
- the survey of molecular markers (microsatellites) and defining the markers which are the most informative and the most used for the identification and standardization of autochthonous materials of vines
- molecular analysis of autochthonous materials of vines cultivars in Bosnia and Herzegovina
- the complete adoption of the molecular markers techniques for analysing within the Institute
