Institute of Genetic Resources has a net house that houses pre-basic seedlings of fruit trees and vines.There are trees of indigenous varieties of apples, pears, plums, cherries and indigenous varieties of vines. The material was previously tested for the presence of the viruses and the phytoplasmas whereby confirmed the absence of the mentioned ones. The trees in the net house are protected from aphids, which are vectors for viruses and phytoplasmas.
Greenhouse
Institute of Genetic Resources, University of Banja Luka, in 2016, upraised a greenhouse with a complete irrigation system. At the moment, in the greenhouse, is in progres multiplication of local populations of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and pumpkins (Cucurbita pepo L.) for the gene bank needs and the needs of implementation of ongoing projects.
