Members of Scientific Council

The Scientific Council of the Institute is a professional body, pursuant to the special law and in line with the proper implementation of provisions of the University of Banja Luka’s Statute referring to the Council of the Faculty/Academy.

Members of the Scientific Council are researchers with scientific degree and full-time teachers employed at the University of Banja Luka, who are engaged in regular activities of the Institute.

The Director of the Institute is the Chair of the Council, ex officio.
 

 

Prof. Gordana Đurić, PhD,
Chair of the Scientific Council

Full professor at the University of Banja Luka. Her narrow scientific fields are Horticulture and Genetic resources conservation on the first, second and third cycle of studies at the Faculty of Agriculture and the combined study programme Conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources. Head of the study programme of the third cycle of Agricultural Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture. She is the BiH National Coordinator for ECP GR - the European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources and Coordinator of the Programme on Conservation of Genetic Resources.

Prof. Nikola Mićić, PhD

Full professor at the University of Banja Luka and the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture (2003-2008; 2014-); responsible for a group of subjects within the narrow scientific field Fruit growing and Biometrics in the first, second and third cycle of studies at the Faculty of Agriculture and the combined study programme Conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources. Head of Department of Biometrics at the Faculty of Agriculture in Banja Luka and coordinator of the working group - Fruits and Vitis within the Programme on Conservation of Genetic Resources of the Republic of Srpska.

Prof. Živojin Erić, PhD

Full professor at the University of Banja Luka responsible for a group of subjects within the narrow scientific fields Microbiology and Cell biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Banja Luka and the combined study programme Conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources. Member of the Senate of the University of Banja Luka on behalf of the Genetic Resources Institute (2012-2016). He is the coordinator of the Working Group - Resistance to Microorganisms within the Programme on Conservation of Genetic Resources of the Republic of Srpska.

Prof. Nada Šumatić, PhD

Full professor at the University of Banja Luka. Her narrow scientific field is Botany. She teaches at the Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Banja Luka and the combined study programme Conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources. Member of the Senate of the University of Banja Luka on behalf of the Faculty of Forestry (2012-2016) and the coordinator of the Working Group - Wild Relatives of Cultivated Plants within the Programme on Conservation of Genetic Resources of the Republic of Srpska.

Prof. Goran Trbić, PhD

Associate Professor at the University of Banja Luka and the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics since 2015. Responsible for a group of subjects within the narrow scientific field Physical geography – environment at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the combined study programme Conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources. Expert in the field of climate change from Bosnia and Herzegovina in UNFCCC – the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the coordinator of the Working Group - Genetic Resources and Climate Change within the Programme on Conservation of Genetic Resources of the Republic of Srpska.

Prof. Zoran Govedar, PhD

Associate Professor at the University of Banja Luka. Dean of the Faculty of Forestry (2008-2012; 2012-2016). His narrow scientific field is Silviculture and the teaching subjects are Ecology of Silviculture and Silviculture 1 at the Faculty of Forestry. Coordinator of regular activities in the implementation of measures from the Project of Horticultural Landscaping of the Protected Area "University City" - the selection and implementation of silvicultural measures on the trees in the protected area.

Prof. Rodoljub Oljača, PhD

Full professor at the University of Banja Luka. His narrow scientific field is Nutrition and physiology of plants. Member of the Senate of the University of Banja Luka on behalf of the Genetic Resources Institute since 2016. He teaches at the Agriculture and Forestry Faculty in Banja Luka. On the first cycle, he teaches courses: Plant Physiology, Physiological plant diseases. On the second cycle, he teaches courses: Physiology of mineral nutrition of plants, Ecophysiology of woody plants. On the third cycle he teaches courses: Stress physiology of cultivated plants.
